Visit Newnes in Wolgan Valley

The town of Newnes in the serene and beautiful Wolgan Valley is my favourite place to rest and recuperate. I spent a relaxed night – with no mosquitoes (!) and then spent the next day reading on the verandah of the Newnes hotel.

The camping ground is surrounded by majestic cliffs with kangaroos constant companions.

To read the fascinating history of the town and valley and see a gallery of photos see:

(The book I was reading was The Seige, the account of the terrorist attach on the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai in 2008. An absolutely phenomenal job of research that brought all the pieces of the jigsaw together to describe the chaos that ensued on that night in the most luxurious and well-established hotel in India.)
