“Forged in fire” documentary

Forged In Fire is the story of survival and the ongoing process of recovering in the aftermath of the October 2013 Blue Mountains bushfires. Survivors share their experiences of danger, loss and devastation as well as their challenges and transformations on the road to a new life.

This film will explore the psychological issues people face in rebuilding their lives. It will highlight the factors that create resilient communities: their ability to withstand and recover from adversity.

Filming has already begun with various local residents and community leaders. We will now also focus our efforts on approaching philanthropic organisations to raise funds to create the documentary and supporting materials to the highest standard.

“Forged in Fire” has tax deductibility status through the Documentary Australia Foundation.

Production team: Anne McLeod (Producer/Director/Writer), Gary Caganoff (Co-Producer/Cameraman/Editor), Michael Norton (Associate Producer). All are residents of the Upper Blue Mountains.
